49 Percent of Kansas Wheat Very Poor to Poor



For the week ending January 1, topsoil moisture supplies rated 43% very short, 26% short, 29% adequate, and 2% surplus, according to the USDA's National Agricultural Statistics Service. Subsoil moisture supplies rated 47% very short, 34% short, 18% adequate, and 1% surplus.

Winter wheat condition rated 23% very poor, 26% poor, 32% fair, 17% good, and 2% excellent.
